AIM Supervising HSB Practice Training
Target audience
This course is targeted at experienced professionals who are supervising staff who are working with children and young people with harmful sexual behaviours (HSB).
This includes supervisors/managers in Social Care, Youth Justice and other Specialist HSB Providers.  
Participants will preferably have a good understanding of harmful sexual behaviours, either gained through attendance at AIM3 assessment model training or through relevant practice experience.  
Course Aim
This two-day course aims to develop practice confidence and competence in supervising staff. This training provides the supervisor with the skills to offer effective, reflective supervision to support their staff in developing their skills in analysing harmful sexual behavior, creating profiles of risk and need and developing, through case formulation, effective safety plans and effective intervention.
This course will also focus on the challenges and impact on staff welfare when working with HSB and how to support this.  
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the workshop participants will:
  • Have an overview of supervision, it’s purpose and importance
  • Understand factors which are relevant to HSB assessment and intervention in relation to AIM3 assessment and interventions
  • Learn the importance of critically reflective supervision and developing staff resilience and supporting staff welfare
  • Have the opportunity to rehearse core supervisory skills in relation to HSB
